The Hohem Smartphone iSteady V2 Gimbal has an AI feature, which would detect your face and your movements so you’ll never be out of frame. I put it to the test to see if it would detect my puppy’s movement (puppies are such active furballs!) and mine is a pretty hyper one!

The Hohem Smartphone iSteady V2 Gimbal is equipped with the 3-Axis Mechanical Stabilisation which is electronic image stabilisation. The 3-axis mechanical gimbal stabilisation is much better than electronic image stabilisation to avoid footage quality being damaged and cropped so if you’re someone that has very shaky hands when videoing or gets dizzy when watching shaky videos, this gadget is definitely made for you! Also, I’d say it did a pretty good job in capturing my puppy’s movements! Not only that, but filming my puppy wasn’t an easy task and it took us a couple of hours to get the shot but thankfully, the Hohem Smartphone iSteady V2 Gimbal has been upgraded to longer battery life, more than 9 hours! That means you could bring this gadget out to record any part of your day as you wish without worrying about it dying on you halfway through!
So you might be wondering since it is an AI sensor gimbal, would it be able to still sensor your gestures and movements in the low light setting?
Absolutely! To put this feature to the test, I’ve brought the gimbal out with me to shoot a short clip of my outdoor badminton session at night with my friends to show you how the gadget fair! Let’s watch the video below to see how the gimbal fair in a bad lighting setting!
I’d say that it did really well especially with badminton, it is a sport where I had to run around the court but the gimbal did a good job in detecting my movements despite the harsh and bad lighting. It is also smart enough to ignore my shadows and only focus on me.
The gimbal is also equipped with the POV All Follow Mode, which is why I am always in the frame despite me running around. So whether you’re using the smart tracking feature or manually controlling the gimbal, it will capture the movements along these axes to deliver smooth, steady, professional-looking shots and making sure you’re always in frame.
Lastly, I’d like to end this review article off by recommending this gadget to anyone who needs a stabiliser device for a more professional video that has good battery life and will still perform excellently even in harsh and bad lighting where you will never go out of frame or focus!
